At our annual event, Internet Archive founder, Brewster Kahle, unveiled a new direction for the organization:  “Building Libraries Together.”  We are building next generation tools that will enable people and communities to build libraries with us. Some 500 guests came to Internet Archive headquarters in San Francisco for hands-on demos of our tools and more.  The evening began with music by the New Disciples of Blue Grass, playing selections all available at archive.org.  Emcee, Jason Scott, the led us through an evening of presentations, including: Building Libraries Together: New Tools for a New Direction video | blog post by Brewster Kahle, Digital Librarian Introducing the New Tabletop Scribe video by Robert Miller, Director of Books Miller unveils a portable, new book scanner, the Tabletop Scribe, that allows individuals and organizations to own and control their own book digitization process.
